The Species:
Black Wild Cherry wood.
Botanical name: Prunus Serotina.
Origin: North America, from the highlands of Mexico to Quebec, throughout the eastern half of the United States.
The name of black cherry is due to the colour of its black and sour berries.
With a much more regular structure than its European cousin, it is especially recognizable by the small pockets of sap, which are rarely avoidable.
By its more regular structure and a more homogeneous colour, examined the greenish vein, the American cherry tree is very appreciated in the industry of the furniture and the panels in order to obtain a production as less heterogeneous as possible.
American Cherry has distinct creamy sapwood while the heartwood is orange-brown. It is often darker than European cherry but above all, it darkens quite quickly in the light.
It is traditionally very appreciated in interior furnishings, as well as in lumber as in veneers.
Other uses of this wood are carving, turning, making stair railings, silk reels, brushwood and pipe stoves.
Its delicately amended smell makes it the staves of choice for white spirits barrels.

Genuine wood sliced veneer sheets.
These veneers are raw without a finish or any fleece back.
The veneer surface is similar to plane wood, however, it will be preferable to forecast a light sanding after glueing.
The veneers are offered here as wood sliced sheets of one and unique thickness.
Both faces of these veneers are the same, without fleece back, without glue.
Even if the veneer's sides had been cut relatively straight, it isn't a precise parallel clipping, some veneers may have kept the decreasing shape of the tree, wider at the bottom end and narrower at the top end.
Very occasionally, some veneers sides have traces unclipped wane but our veneers are measured at the narrowest as explained in the paragraph "sizes".
As a genuine natural wood, all finishing products are acceptable as long these products are meant to be for wood usage.
The choice of finish product has to be consistent with the realisation final usage.

Veneers are rolled and well protected in a strong carton chosen for resisting somewhat vigorous handling and being delivered to you in good condition.
